Remember that people hire people.
It sounds so basic and obvious. People hire people. Yet, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by technology in a job search. As a result, we worry about how to make résumés ATS-friendly. Or we focus on getting your LinkedIn profile to appear in recruiter searches.
Don’t get me wrong – it’s important to consider technology during your job search. I just want you to remember that ultimately people hire people. At the end of the day, people still make the final decisions on who to bring back for interviews and to whom to extend offers.
Therefore, connecting to the right person at a company can make all the difference between getting hired and not even getting a response to your application.
